Derrica Daniel joined the ACLU of Nevada in 2023 as the Outreach Coordinator Intern and President of the Emerging Leaders. She is now the Community Organizer for Las Vegas and Director of the Emerging Leaders where she leads all initiatives and strategies for the youth program. She is a well-known youth advocate throughout Nevada and is primarily focused on strategizing and developing programs to educate and provide opportunities/ resources to youth across Nevada.

Derrica serves as an executive board member for seven different task forces across Nevada including the Secretary of State Youth Democracy Taskforce, Juvenile Justice Oversight Commission, My Brothers Keepers Youth Taskforce, Silver State Equality Youth Taskforce, T.U.L.I.P.S Board of Directors, NAACP Las Vegas, and ACLU of Nevada Emerging Leaders. Derrica has always been deeply driven by the youth in her community and has helped coordinate some of the biggest staple youth events in Las Vegas over the past few years.

As she continues her education journey, Derrica hopes to attend Howard University in the fall of 2025 as an undergraduate to pursue political science and law. She is a community leader on the frontline of many issues surrounding youth in Las Vegas and says that adversity doesn't bother her, matter of fact it fuels her. She feels unstoppable and capable of everything and anything.
