Alex was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated with honors from Nevada State University, where she laid the foundation for her advocacy journey in college by hosting community events to bring people together to learn about Black history and culture. Her commitment to community-based efforts was formally recognized during her graduation when she was featured in Nevada State University's student spotlight, emphasizing the impact of her advocacy. She was also a member of the Society for the Advancement of Management and attended the International Collegiate Business Skills Championship for the case competition.
Her previous work includes being involved in groundbreaking initiatives, including assisting with establishing Business Hubs and Youth Hubs. The Employ NV Business Hub was recognized as Program of the Year 2022 by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals. Through these Hubs, Alex has had much success in securing federal and state grants and subsidies for employers and fostering economic growth while empowering countless teens and young adults through meaningful employment and internship opportunities.
Alex also helped a friend raise money to open an exciting, immersive art space pop-up. At the time, the immersive art space was the most funded immersive art space project on Kickstarter, securing over $120,000 in donations. Alex worked on marketing efforts, creative direction, outreach, and fundraising.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys reading, learning, dancing, watching movies/shows, working out, getting coffee/tea, and visiting with friends and family.
