Jacob Valentine is from rural Southern Nevada but lived in Reno for seven years. While in Reno, he earned an MBA and a degree in mechanical engineering and particularly enjoyed his two years as a Nevada cheerleader and bartending in midtown.
Since then, he has moved to Southern Nevada and received a JD from the Boyd School of Law. Before joining the ACLU of Nevada, Jacob worked for firms that work on social justice, open-source software, intellectual property, and data privacy. He is also a founding member of the Las Vegas chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and is currently on the steering committee.
Jacob enjoys training duo acrobatics, fire breathing, and fire spinning when he can. He also enjoys woodworking and any other activity that allows him to express his creative side. But if asked, Jacob would admit that his favorite after-work activity is spending time with his wife and three cats: Sazerac, Paloma, and Dirty Martini.
