Kaylah is a Civil Rights Analyst at the ACLU of Nevada and has been with the nonprofit organization since February of 2024. She is a Las Vegas native who graduated from the College of Southern Nevada High School in 2020 and received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2022. Through the rigorous efforts Kaylah made to graduate college early, she has received certificates of recognition from Nevada Assemblyman Duy Nguyen (District 8), United States Representative Susie Lee, Congressman Steven Horsford, and Justice Michael L Douglas.
While enrolled in university, Kaylah focused her studies on the history of mass incarceration and the effects it has on our community. During this time, Kaylah developed a passion for learning how to advocate for the civil rights of incarcerated individuals. After college, Kaylah interned with Code Switch Restorative Justice for Girls of Color as a policy analyst tracking bills that related to the use of restorative justice in the Clark County School District.
Outside of her career, Kaylah has an esteemed green thumb and enjoys spending time with her two Goldendoodles - Rebel and Rizzo - and her turtle named Quincy.
