Your legislators need to hear from their constituents. Now is the time to use your voice!

The Nevada Legislature this week is considering two bills with excessively harsh criminal penalties for people who have substance use disorders.

Senate Bills 35 and 343 will establish draconian sentencing guidelines for the possession, not trafficking, of fentanyl, even for people who don’t know trace amounts of the substance are present. Criminalizing possession instead of treating addiction is a legacy of the failed War on Drugs.

We’re asking you to show up and use your voice by giving public comment in opposition and urging your representatives to oppose these mass incarceration policies.

Tell the Nevada Legislature: We need more harm reduction and treatment, not mass incarceration!
