Before you can establish relationships and start lobbying your legislators, you’ll have to do some research.
The Nevada legislature’s website, also known as NELIS (Nevada Electronic Legislative Information System) is your best friend during the legislative session. This is where you’ll find:
- Contact information for senators and assemblypersons
- Bills that have been introduced and where they are in the process
- Who sits on what legislative committee
- Meetings, Floor Sessions, Agendas, and Live Streams
Other things you can do to stay informed and updated:
- Follow legislators on Twitter and follow #NVLeg
- Know which district you live in and which legislators represent you
- Sign up for updates
- Attend events where legislators may be, where you can understand their positions on specific topics and establish a relationship with them as well.
